Euphorbia is one of the endangered and rare plants of Azerbaijan, and it is listed in the Red Book. Euphorbia plant is found around Nakhchyvan (Nakhichevan) and Julfa. It grows mostly at the foot of mountains and hillsides. Today we import this plant from Southern Azerbaijan (territory of Iran) where it is more abundantly available. Alum is used as a mordant to dye the wool with euphorbia. To get very beautiful golden yellow color, some madder and pomegranate skins are added together with Südleyen - Euphorbia.
